What is an MRI?

How does it work?

MRI machines use big magnets and radio waves to create pictures of the inside of your body.

Are they loud?

Yes, they can be! It sounds like knocking or tapping, but it's just the machine at work.

Is it safe?

Absolutely! MRI machines are very safe when used properly.

Before you go in, you'll need to remove anything metal so it doesn't interfere with the magnets.

No metal allowed!

You'll lie on a sliding bed that goes into the MRI machine. Just lie still and relax!
