Description
An FDG PET scan, or Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography scan, is a type of medical imaging procedure used to diagnose and manage a variety of diseases, particularly cancers. FDG is a radioactive glucose compound that is injected into the patient’s body. The PET scanner then detects radiation emitted by this compound to produce detailed, three-dimensional images of the body’s interior.
